Common questions
Security & Backups — questions we hear a lot.
What's the single most important thing to get right?
Backups. Hardware fails, laptops get stolen, and ransomware happens — a tested backup turns all of those from a disaster into an inconvenience. If you do nothing else, get your irreplaceable files backed up automatically.
I think I've been scammed or hacked. What should I do?
Get in touch straight away — speed matters. We'll help you secure the affected accounts, change what needs changing, check devices for anything left behind, and talk to your bank if money is involved. No judgement; it happens to careful people too.
Is this overkill for a home user?
Not at all — most of our security work is for households: backing up family photos, securing email accounts, and setting up password managers. It's usually a single visit, and it's a lot cheaper than recovering from the alternative.
Ready to sort it out?
Tell us what's going on and we'll take it from there.
